response to group D's prompt
One song that means a lot to me is "Get Up Stand Up" by Bob Marley partly because he is my favorite artist, but mostly because the lyrics inspire me. "Stand up for your rights" and "don't give up the fight" are specific lyrics that make me imagine standing up for what you believe in and to never back down or get discouraged. The song talks about how most people think they can rely on someone else to take care of their problems and eventually there will be a solution, but the point is to take action for yourself. When I listen to it, I feel the urge to be the best person I can be and put my skills to use wherever I can.

I love Bob Marley. My favorite song of his is "No Woman, No Cry". I honestly have no idea what it means exactly.. but I've always interpreted it as 'No woman, don't cry' and we will work things out together. The thing that really gets me is when I see and hear live versions of him playing this song. Something about his performance of it is so powerful. I believe the music and the words are just part of the message of music, and the performance of it speaks volumes as well.
ReplyDeleteI love this song too :) i definitely know what youre saying about those specific lyrics. He's really inspirational and wrote/sang great songs. great choice :)
ReplyDeleteWell I've never heard the song but I like what you said about it. I know right now I am pretty dependent on my parents still, but like the song says, I can't rely on them forever for solutions.
